ROC Mapping Clinic
Learn the basics of making Orienteering maps using OOMapper. Topics to be covered:
-making a base map
-field checking (outdoors if the weather isn’t too nasty, dress appropriately)
-using Open Orienting Mapper to draw the map.
If you have a laptop and can bring it that will be beneficial. You should download the freeware before you arrive... go to: openorienteering.org. Scroll down to 8.4 release and hit download.
If you can't bring a PC, I have the 2 club computers that you can share.
RSVP to Linda (wornerkohn@gmail.com or 434-2674) if you intend to attend so the correct number of handouts can be prepared.
Please bring with you a regular pencil, blue pencil and red pencil (if possible).
A light lunch will be available.
**This clinic is appropriate for experienced orienteers with at least an intermediate level of ability. It is not intended for those wanting to learn how to orienteer.
