Genesee County Park and Forest - Nature Center

Beginner (White) - 1.9km / 45m

Intermediate (Yellow/Orange) - 3.5km / 65m

Short Advanced (Brown) - 4.0km / 80m

Long Advanced (Red) - 6.1km / 140m

Map/Course notes:

The vegetation has had good growth and is very thick in the green stripe areas. Most of the rough open (light yellow) areas have very thick 4 foot high weeds even if they don't have green stripe. Water levels are low in the streams and ponds but there is still water in the swampy areas.

There is poison ivy so leg cover is advised if you are allergic.

Some of the rootstocks have gotten old and have lost the dirt but the roots are still there.

The long advanced has 2 parts to avoid overlap confusion. All courses except the beginner course have multiple changes of direction and some criss crossing, check your compass when leaving a control.

Genesee County Park (GCP) has a little of everything, open woods, water features, trails and roads, and overgrown fields.  Start is located out of a really nice Nature Center.  The park is located a little south of Batavia about 45-60mins from Rochester.  There is a beginner clinic at 9am at the nature center and then you can head out to try a course.  

There will be a String-O course which is great for kids (and the Nature center).
