Beginner (White) -  

Score-O - 

String-O!!  Bring your kids (or prepare to unleash the kid inside you).  It will be e-punch so bring your sprinting shoes and we will see who earns the fastest string-O time!!

Pre-packaged snacks, fruit and jugs of water/Gatorade will be available.  

Don't forget to sign up to volunteer and pre-register.

Two courses will be offered --

Score-O, 31 controls, 1-hour time limit. Mass start at 6:30 pm.

White (beginner), 11 controls, 2 km straight-line distance. 1-hour time limit. Start anytime between 6:00 and 6:30 pm

A number of updates have been made to the map in preparation for this meet. Still, it is not perfect by any means, especially the vegetation mapping. Some areas mapped as white (open woods) are actually more like open with scattered trees, although most but not all of those areas have been corrected; and some areas mapped as white are thicker than white would suggest.

One symbol to point out is the symbol of yellow dots on a white background, which refers to open land with scattered trees, but it is also used to represent open land with scattered thickets, especially in the “lilac” area (the hillside on the north side of Highland Avenue). It is a bit tougher to get through the scattered thickets area quickly (and harder to follow any sort of straight line), than the scattered trees areas.

For the score-O, there are 8 controls on the west side of South Avenue. There is major construction happening on South Avenue, and the usual crosswalks are no longer marked on the pavement. Please use utmost caution when crossing South Avenue. To give some reward for venturing to this area, which is somewhat remote from the rest of the mapped area, these 8 controls are worth 2 points each. (All other controls are worth 1 point.)

Please be back on time! Since it will start getting dark soon after the course closing time of 7:30, control pickup will begin right at 7:30. The penalty for being overtime is 2 points per minute or fraction of a minute.
