For safety reasons, all entrants are encouraged to carry whistles.
The entry fee is $8 per map for non-members and $4 per map for members of the Rochester Orienteering Club. The Beginner White course is $5 per map.
Children can participate in the Little Troll Program by earning a sticker each time they participate. When enough stickers are earned they can send in their sticker card and receive a patch from the national orienteering federation.
For other events within a two hour drive of Rochester check the Central New York Orienteering club, Buffalo Orienteering Club and, only slightly further away, the Golden Horseshoe Orienteering Club (GHO) (based around the Niagara/Hamilton, Ontario region) web sites.
